So, I did an Ironman distance event. Unsupported. I don’t really have any revelations. It was long. I was very hungry at the end and was hungry for days. It was pretty tiring. It was pretty uneventful. It takes a lot of prep, not just training but the logistics. I am not terribly inspired to do it again. I honestly don’t think I could ever run a marathon, let alone run one at the end of an IM. I can’t imagine paying 700 dollars, plus travel, hotel, bike shipping, etc. to do one. They do have a new one starting in Boulder, but if I did an actual paid for event I would want to do very specific training. That would require quite a bit of time. I don’t see that happening any time soon.
