In February I will hit my 4 year mark of when I started building bike frames. What started out as a fun hobby has turned into an obsession of creating and challenge. I’ve learned so much over this time frame. Building a bike frame is one of the most challenging and rewarding efforts a person can take on. Each build brings times where I can’t believe I am choosing to do this and times where I am so excited to be a part of someone’s riding experience. Thanks to those who have been a part of the journey. Special thanks to the family who wakes up at 5 AM to the sound of grinding metal and is welcomed home by the smell of curing paint frames in the shop. Another thanks to the people riding on CDS bike frames and who have trusted me to create their specialty bike frame.
I feel like I’ve covered a lot of ground, including: lugged bikes, mountain bikes, single speed commuters, disc road bikes, fork building, tube bending and internal cable routing. I also feel like there is so much more to learn and explore. I can’t wait to see what will come up next.
